What We Do

  • We provide information on the rights and duties of foreign citizens and support them in the following situations:

– Regularization (residence and stay permit, study visa…)
– Family reunification
– Political asylum.
– The right to education, health, housing, social security and work.

  • We support and accompany workers in resolving labor disputes.
  • We provide support in situations related to prisons, courts and the international area of ​​Lisbon airport.
  • We have a partnership with the Instituto de Emprego e Formação Profissional (UNIVA) for guidance and support in job search and professional training.
  • We organize courses in Portuguese, English, Russian, Arabic, Creole and IT.
  • We organize workshops in dance, percussion, video and other artistic areas.
  • We organize intercultural meetings and concerts, within the scope of the defense of human rights, with the aim of allowing the knowledge of different cultures and a debate of ideas and experiences.
  • We organize and participate in debates and exhibitions on the struggle of immigrants in Portugal, in collaboration with universities, schools and other bodies.
  • We propose to organize many other activities, in the neighbourhoods, in the workplace and on the street, with your participation.
  • We have an open bar and we organize dinners around the world’s cuisine, debates, films and music from various countries, to promote fraternization and intercultural experience.
  • In addition to the activities we carry out with all immigrant communities, our association, due to the dynamics exerted, created other areas of work, namely Jornal da SOLIM, the Youth and Mobility group, the Right to Housing group, the Immigrant Women group.

What do we do?

  • we give information and support about rights and dutys of the foreigner citizens concerning regulations (residence permit), family reunification, political asylum and rights of education, health, living space plus social and working insurance.
  • we help and accompany workers in the resolution of their problems at work.
  • we offer help in situations concerning to prison, court and the international zone of the Lisbon airport.
  • we have a partnership with the Institue of work and professional education (UNIVA) to support and accompany immigrants with the search of jobs and education.
  • we organize language courses (portugues, english, russian, crioulu snd arabain) and computer courses.
  • we organize dance, percussion, video and other artistic workshops.
  • we organize intercultural get togethers and concerts in order to defense the human rights with the aim to give access to different cultures and to debate ideas and experiences.
  • we organize and participate in debates an expositions about the the fight of the immigrants in Portugal in cooperation with universities, schools and other organizations.
  • we intend to organize even more activities in the neighbourhoods, the working space and in the streets provided your participation.
  • we organize dinners with cuisine all around the world, accompanied with debates, filmes and music from the correlative countries to promote the intercultural confrontation and the live together.
  • Besides the mentioned activities that envolve all kind of immigrant communities, our association also criated more working areas, for example the magazine SOLIM, the group of youth and mobility, the group for the right of living space and the group of immigrant women.

  • We offer help with situations related to prison, courts and the international area of ​​Lisbon airport.
  • The “Gabinete de Apoio de Emprego ao Imigrante” (GAEI), employment support for immigrants, is aimed at anyone who is unemployed or registered with the SEF (Immigration Service), either for a first application for a residence permit, or for its renewal or for family reunification. 
  • We organize Portuguese, English, Russian, Arabic, Creole and IT courses. 
  • We organize dance, percussion, video and other artistic activities
  • We organize intercultural meetings and concerts, with the aim of defending human rights, to allow the discovery of different cultures and an exchange of ideas and experiences. 
  • We organize exhibitions and debates on the struggle of immigrants in Portugal, in collaboration with universities, schools and other organizations.
  • We propose to organize many other events, in the neighborhoods, in the workplace, in the street, counting on your participation.
  • We have a bar and organize dinners to discover the gastronomy of the world, debates, films and music from many countries, in order to promote brotherhood and cultural experience. 
  • Beyond the activities organized with all the immigrant communities, our association, thanks to its dynamic, has developed other working groups, such as the SOLIM Journal, the Youth and Mobility group, Right to Housing, Immigrant Women, Employment Support, Interculturality and Citizenship.
